Cute Pincushions From Small Containers...Part One!

Just a quick post this morning.  The Granddaughters are visiting from Idaho Falls for General Conference Weekend.  Their Daddy does translation for some of the speakers.  He went to Guam as a missionary and speaks one of the dialects.

I wanted to show you three little pincushions I made re-purposing small containers I found out thrifting.  The first was a thistle dish missing its lid.  Thistles remind me of Scotland, a land I have visited twice...such a romantic place, full of mists and music.

A Cute Vintage Santa Mug.
It's small...less than 3" tall.

Vintage Baby Planter
The kind new mothers used to get as gifts in the hospital.
I used a pink striped fabric. It's a little hard to see in the pic.
I hot-glued mini pom-pom (cute!) trim around the back top edge of the planter.
I plan to make some from vintage baby shoes at a later date.

These are so cute! I especially love the Santa one--must be that polka-dot fabric! I'm inspired to look around for containers I have around my house. This would be a great Christmas gift.
