Halloween Swapportunities...And Some Ghoulish Delights!

Disney 1937 ...cutest Halloween wolfie ever!

George and I had a blast at Disneyland last weekend...I always hate to leave.  The park seems to get more Halloweenish every year.  I found a lot of inspiration for some of my projects...there were a lot of Haunted Mansion Holiday items, but I only picked up a few things.  I did find what I was looking for, which was a package of "Nightmare Before Christmas" figures for a shadow box to go in my office.  All in all I came home creatively refreshed!

Two Halloween Swaps!
Cookie Cutter Swap hosted by Sandy of  521 Lake Street and Deb of Garage Sale Gal

The plan was to make an ornament using a large round cookie cutter.  Here is one from Sandy's blog as an example.

Haunted Mansion Holiday... New Halloweenie!

Haunted Mansion Holiday!

We are leaving this morning for George's birthday trip to Disneyland.  This will be our first trip since March...I know!  We usually go once a month or so...that's how crazy we are!  This time of year the park is all decked out for Halloween.  I am hoping to get some inspiration for my "Haunted Mansion Holiday" theme I want to do in my office.  I've made a couple of things I can show you...just know it's a work in progress...

Desk top décor...just getting started.

The banners are made from a Halloween version of the Haunted Mansion wallpaper.  I hope to make a shadowbox scene based on "Nightmare Before Christmas."  I picked up a cool cemetery gate yesterday at Joann.  The store is selling Christmas and Halloween fairy garden accessories...with fun miniatures.

Each pennant has a Disney Halloween picture.  This one's so cute!

Halloween Tree Ornament/Tag

Wicked Treats!
"Wicked Witch Treat Shoppe"

My friend Lynn from the "Weinee Ranch" blog sent me a bunch of craft supplies one day.  This hideous witch head was included in the package.  I love it!  I bought a small carve-able pumpkin at Dollar tree and decided to make it into some kind of shadow box.  I don't know how I got the idea to make it into a candy shop...it kind of designed itself.  It's hard to find miniature candy that isn't Christmas colored, but I found some suckers and some candy-shaped buttons at Hobby Lobby.  The candy bars I made myself with little pieces of wood meant for doll-house shingles.  They are about 1 inch in length.

Fun-size candy!

Little Witch behind the counter.
Not quite to scale...but who cares, right?

Trick or Treaters Beware!

I wanted to show a few more new Halloweenies...but it's time to go.  I will have more things to share when I get back from the Happiest...Halloween...Place on Earth!

Happy Crafting!

Halloweenies...First of the Season!

September at Last!
Today may be Labor Day on your calendar, but to me, September 1st is the opening kick-off to my fall crafting season.   This past week has simply dragged by!  Now I can annoy my neighbors by putting up the autumn leaves around my door and gradually...very gradually...adding my Halloweenies.   I got one of my sporadic hyper-creativity episodes last week and have been waiting a decent interval to post.  Hello, September!

Spoolies!
"Boo" Spoolies.
In my spool stash I found a dozen or so already painted black and/or orange.
The cat and owls were free Halloween graphics from Johanna Parker.

Tammy's Spoolies!
Our swap challenge was to spell "Halloween."
I will post Tammy's creations when I get them.

New Howlet!
I call him "Owl TV" for the little box on his tummy.
This was made with a rather large cheese grater.

Kitty's favorite episode of "The Owl and the Pussycat."

Spice Tin Ghoulies...
This is "Punky"...spice tin and crafting odds and ends.
Paper clay leaves for feet.

Punky and his pal "Walter."
Walter has paper clay body parts.
The tin is still full of tobacco...lol!  Great colors.

The masks were from last year's Martha Stewart crafts.
I have a few more ghoulies in the idea hopper.
A visit to Flea-ology on Saturday added to my stash of tins.

Vintage Framed Luhrs Characters
I have had these original Luhrs decorations for years.
I decided to frame a few in 8 x 10 frames from Walmart.

I used foam dots to mount them and give a little dimension.
This will help preserve them.
I was taping them to my office French door windows...not a good idea for such old treasures.

I hope you are enjoying your holiday!
