The Kitsch-iest Wreath in the West!

Could It Be Any Tackier?
You know, it probably could.  I spent the morning out in my craft workshop working on this wreath.  It was already covered in vintage Christmas ornaments...I made it some years back after seeing one in Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion.  But that was before my collection of kitschy doo-dads spun out of control.  Today I threw out the old "less is more" adage and went for the overkill.

The picture on the right illustrates just how much crap you can glue and wire in a small space.  I had closeups of other sections, but they didn't work out as well as I'd hoped.  A few of the ornaments were ones my Grandma Patta put on her tree every year.  There are a couple of wee stockings and two Disney Dwarves that were hers.  I have it hanging on the inside of my kitchen door this year on a red wreath hanger that I polkie-dotted myself.  The theme in the kitchen is going to be Peppermints and Polkadots to show off my vintage decorations.  Goodbye, Gingerbread Man!

Update on Zetta's Cards...
You can see that I'm getting my supplies in order.  I found another wooden organizer to paint...so now I have a new tool caddy.  I printed my favorites of Zetta's cards, embellished them with glitter and glued them on to red rick-rack to make garlands for my office windows.  It's still Halloween as I write, but my windows scream "CHRISTMAS!"

I added some buttons as well.  I think they look cute, but something is missing.
Maybe I'll paint some wooden spools and make some kind of tassel on the ends of the greenery.

What I'm Thankful For Today...
My darling daughter Sascha, dressed as Sailor Moon, has been answering the door to Treat the Trickers.  It's so cute how she compliments them on their costumes...and coaches them to say "Thank you."  Isn't it a blessing to live in a place where our children can be a part of such fun traditions?  When I hear their sweet voices piping "Trick or Treat!"...it makes me feel like a kid again.  I kind of miss the little family Halloween parties we had...the chili and doughnuts after making the rounds of the neighborhood.  But I'm content to be Grandma Shirley to a new crop of youngsters.

Bring on the Mistletoe and Boughs of Holly,

I love the banner and the wreath is super cute!! Can't wait to see your kitchen decorated. Shh, I have the dog tree lighted up in the sitting room!! I also hung the stockings on the mantel. It looks like Christmas in there. But the living room looks like Thanksgiving and fall. Can't wait to see your tags!!
Hugs,
Lynn
