My granddaughter Alena calls Halloween decorations "Spookables." When I was little I enjoyed riding around town and looking at the cardboard Halloween pictures that people taped to their windows. I have gathered a small collection of vintage wall and window decorations. Most of them are circa 1950. You may have seen reproductions of some of them. The Owl (L) is often reproduced.
This garland may be as old as the 20s or 30s.
It's pretty fragile and is missing several pumpkin people.
Owl Honeycomb Centerpiece
Scarecrow Honeycomb Centerpiece.
Colorful Lurhs Die-Cuts
These are often reproduced. Mine are originals.
This Black Cat started my collecting.
I found him in my Grandparents' attic.
Another Black Cat.
Witch or Goblin?
Whatever it is...it's hideous!
Miss Alice...another Halloween Cat!
The Jack Skellington pillow was designed by Char from Crap I've Made
I couldn't wait to make one when I saw it on Monday.
Zetta will be out of town for the weekend. She will return Monday.
Have a cooler, more fall-like weekend:

Hi Shirley,
Your collection is wonderful! They bring back memories of what my mom decorated with when we were younger. It's so fun to have vintage decorations for the holidays. I'm going to have to keep my eyes out for some spookables!
Betsy
i love your vintage halloween pictures
I just ran across your blog. When I saw this post I just had to write. I recall my Mom bringing out those exact cardboard figures of the witch, pumpkin and owl every Halloween and taping them on the front door. I have no idea whatever happened to them, but thank you for the walk down memory lane. Linda H
